Way back in the seventies, the boss lady became who she is today, Jennie Cook. Destiny was fulfilled after many successful years in catering when The Dutch was opened in 1998, for the love of food.

Past and Present Chefs
Seven days a week a tribe of dedicated professionals gather to make food, spin new recipes and satisfy customers. We have come together from across the continent, and found a workplace that celebrates our creativity, respects our diverse attributes and provides an opportunity for growth on a daily basis, even on the days we aren't in the mood.
We coo over beautiful cookbooks and get teary-eyed over deep dark chocolate while the boss lady runs around ranting about cheesy deliciousness and perfect corn chowder, all the while trying to stay away from the sweet potato fries.
Where it all began
Don't get me wrong, we work plenty hard, but we love our little Shoppe of wonderfulness (to borrow a word from the boss lady) and we think you can taste that difference.
With Southern California as our playground, we make it a point to get out and enjoy the scenery every now and then. The boss lady enjoys regular holidays with her family (and likes to brag a bit about her young son and twenty-something daughters).

After 27 years of marriage, she still giggles daily when her Johnny calls. She says her family is her greatest success, so when she leaves early for carpool or a bit of personal entertaining we keep the Shoppe running just like she likes it, looking to create that same kind of magic.
